Does anybody know a vet I can bring my dog to that does payment plans?

She needs stitches and antibiotics. She was attacked by a pit bull.

FLORIDA -- Jennifer Levy posted on Facebook February 5, 2018 ·

This week I will pick up the remains of my Yorkie, Jill, from the vet. She was killed by a pit bull a week ago,at Okeeheelee dog park. The dog that killed her is still alive but impounded at Animal Control.

No apologize's from the owner and I understand that I have no legal recourse. I believe that the owner should pay for her cremation and, at the very least, pay her purchase price. I know that this will not bring her back but somewhere there needs to be responsibility for ones actions.

In memory of my beloved Jill, I miss you terribly.

Texas: Woman has her arm nearly torn off by her Pit Bull mix

TEXAS -- An East Texas woman is resting in a Dallas hospital, looking at a long road to recovery after being attacked by one of her own dogs.

Gregg County authorities say it happened on Monday when officers were called to a residence north of Kilgore where the woman suffered serious injuries. Cheryl Carver of Gregg County, a nurse, is recovering in Dallas Parkland hospital from serious wounds to her arms.

"The neighbor told me they heard her hollering for help. One of the other neighbors rescued her. It was severe, absolutely severe. In fact, she had a small wound on the other arm too," says Fred Killingsworth of the Gregg County Health Department.

County health officials and deputies were called to the scene.

"Upon arriving they found out that the victim's own dog had attacked her," says Josh Tubb of the Gregg County Sheriff's Office.

Family members say Carver loves the dogs.

"Whatever  triggers them, we don't know what triggers them. I don't know if she was trying to feed it, got between it and another dog, she had several other dogs out there. Don't know the cause for the attack," Killingsworth says.

"Neighbors and witnesses’ nearby were able to get her away from the dog and apply pressure to the wound," Tubb says.

Something the family says probably saved Carver's life.

"Once EMS responded she was later flown to a Dallas hospital for treatment," Tubb says.

Carver's injuries included severely deep bite wounds and broken bones. But she’s alive.

The attacking dog, which is a mixed breed Pit Bull mix, was quarantined.

This is a fundraiser for my mother, Cheryl Carver.  She is a nurse in East Texas.
If you know her, then you know that she is extremely passionate about her dogs and saving every stray that comes around.

Prior to October 2017, she rescued a challenging pit bull. This dog was aggressive, but that only made her feel more inclined to show this abused animal love and care.

In October, this dog bit her hand and broke her finger. She had to have surgery to fuse the bone together. The health department wanted to take the dog, but she wasn't having it.

Despite this, she fought for this dog until she got her way to keep the dog and wanted to continue helping it. I'm sure she blamed herself for being bitten.

A few days ago, the dog attacked her again. This time her arm was almost completely torn from her body.

After surgery

My mother was airlifted to Dallas. She is currently in Parkland Hospital.   She has had one surgery and has another tomorrow. The doctors expect her to be there 3 months. Her 3 forever fur babies will stay with me  and my sisters. She will lose her home, her car, and most likely her job. We will be storing what we can. The medical bills are going to be insane and most likely I will go insane too. I need PRAYERS AND STRENGTH for her.

For my mom,  I promise not to hate all pit bulls because one almost took her life after her saving his two times.

I have cried and asked myself why so many times today??!!! The answer is this, she forgave that dog while she laid there not knowing her own fate. She only thinks about the abuse that was caused to the poor animal to make them react in the way.  This was another rescue. She has a very long road ahead of her y'all. Please please please pray for an easy recovery.  We are letting the house, and possibly the car go and we plan to help her with what she needs and take care of her animals. We are not sure on the outcome of her arm and future use of it, but we are hoping for the best. I LOVE YOU MOMMA. YOU ARE SELFLESS IN A WAY THAT I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND BUT I WILL TRY. 😥😥😥

For the record to be clear. I CALLED HEALTH DEPT AND. PERSONALLY REQUESTED MY DOG THAT ATTACKED ME TO BE PUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY BEFORE I WAS AIRLIFTED WITH MY NEIGHBORS ASSISTANCE. I WAS ASKED IF HE HAD RABIES VACCINE AND ASSURED THEM HE HAD...THEY OFFERED QUARANTINE FIRST WHUCH I REFUSED AND REQUESTED IMMEDIATE PUT DOWN...Make no mistake that this dog is not safe to own by anyone. The KLTV post states he is being. Held for quarantine ...whether that is for positive influence for those faint of heart or actually true I will find out asap and correct if not already done as I requested but again...make no mistake...not safe dog ever...dont learn the hard way like I did. ...i will no longer be rescuing dogs as I always have and I regret I can't but I won't change my mind...I will only own those I already have raised. From birth for their lifetimes then no more....i encourage those willing to continue safely only bit no breed is all bad or all good...depends on us not breed

Some sort of drama was going on in the comments... people were telling her not to trust Pit Bulls, that they are inherently dangerous, etc. She or her daughter didn't like that so they had YouCaring delete all the comments. I hope they refunded the people who had donated and who then had their comments removed.

South Africa: Former cop mauled to death by his own pit bull

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA -- A retired police officer was tragically mauled to death by his own pit bull at his home in Belmont Park, Kraaifontein, on Thursday night.

The dog turned on his owner, 50, as well as his wife, Ruth, who is in ICU at Karl Bremer Hospital. Neighbours say the couple were found lying in pools of their own blood.

Residents say Henry Kleynhans had just spoiled himself and his son to a new car and motorbike on the Tuesday before the incident. His new Harley Davidson was splattered with blood stains.

A trail of blood marked the path where the animal dragged his owner’s body around the house. Henry’s son, Chad, who was not home at the time of the attack, was too distraught to speak to the media.

The former captain was stationed at Kraaifontein SAPS and had retired in January last year.

Next-door neighbour, Eldridge Africa, 32, said he heard a commotion at the house and went to see what was happening. “I heard a weird noise coming from the house before 10pm; my girlfriend and I went to look what was going on.

“When we arrived at the gate, we saw Mufasa, the dog, dragging his owner and tried to fight him off ... but he wouldn’t let go. He’d just brought his new motorbike home that day and never got to ride it.

“He was a calm guy who always did everything for everyone. He always told us something about that dog wasn’t right.

“His wife was bitten on her arms, legs and stomach and was lying in the passage next to her house in a pool of blood.”

Doctors at Kraaifontein Day Hospital said Henry had lost too much blood and died.

The SPCA immediately collected the dog after the deadly attack. The society did not respond to media queries by Sunday night.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed the incident and said an inquest has been registered for investigation.

South Carolina: Maltipoo named Benny mauled by a Pit Bull

SOUTH CAROLINA -- Hello Friends,  As most of you know on the afternoon of February 8, 2018, our precious Maltipoo Benny was attacked by a vicious pit bull right in front of my eyes.

We believe the doctors can repair the damage and he will be ok.  Benny is in need of emergency surgery. This is going to cost thousands of dollars.

Our family would be forever grateful if you could help.

So far they've raised $400 of $3,500 goal. She needs to be more specific. What is wrong with Benny? Post photos of his injuries, his estimated bills. What happened with the Pit Bull and owner?

She'll get some donations from friends and family, but strangers will not donate to fundraising pages that are so threadbare in details.

North Carolina: “Don’t worry he don’t bite,” says owner right before Pit Bull latched onto her face

NORTH CAROLINA -- Local Mother Attacked and Mauled in face by Pit bull

A Gaston County mother is asking for your help after she was severely attacked and mauled by pit bull in the face while picking up her son Christmas Day. In a matter of 15 seconds life as I knew it was no more. My life changed drastically in those few seconds.

Christmas morning 2017 started as usual, as lunchtime approached my son and I got the food packed in the truck. We then headed on out to go get my oldest son to go eat at my mother’s house. When we got there my son wanted to show me the car he just bought a couple nights before.

So I got out of the truck took about 3 or 4 steps and seen a man standing there with a dog on a leash. I looked down at the dog then right back at him.

Before I could say anything the man standing there with the dog says “Don’t worry he don’t bite”, and by the time the man said the word bite, the dog was on me biting me in the face. The damage had been done the only thing to do at that point was control the bleeding remain as calm as possible and drive myself to the hospital.

After driving myself to possibly the worst hospital there is, and being informed there is nothing that can be done for me there. I was given 3 shots of morphine, antibiotics and prescription for pain. I was given an appointment card for a facial reconstruction. The dog had left nothing that could be stitched up. He had bitten half my bottom and top lip off.

I have never had to suffered nor want to suffer again the pain and agony I am going through now. My medicine had to be crushed up and mixed with liquid and poured into my mouth with a measuring cup.

Needless to say the emotional trauma my mind now suffers. I am terrified of all dogs. I have terrible nightmares now and seeing pit bull on television reminds me of the exact moment the attack happened.

Does she still have this Pit Bull?

I have been to see different types of facial reconstruction doctors and have now found one in Huntersville, NC. The doctors have said that I will need multiple surgeries which will require months of recovery. They will have to make my mouth smaller, but are hopeful we can stretch the lip from one side make incision on other side stretch and hopefully meet. The bottom lip and top lip will have to be done separately in hopes it has enough blood supply to heal properly.

Before the attack I was actively looking for work. Then on January 3, 2018, I finally get that call I was waiting for saying we have a position for you starting on Monday. Unfortunately due to the severity of the attack which was healing from the inside out I had to decline taking the job. After talking with my surgeon and learning about the multiple surgeries and the recovery time that comes along with it. I became aware that it was going to be some time before I would be able to even return to working.

I have three sons in which only one still lives at home and going to school that is 15. All if my bills are paid and current except my car insurance at this time. However, with me not able to work that want be the case for long and that leaves me with nothing but worries, tears and not a lot of hope for the months to come on, how I will be able continue to pay them and put gas in my vehicle to get my son to school and myself to the doctor.

I am using what little bit of hope I have left that this go fund me will help me see that there is some light at the end of this tunnel and give me a future to look forward to. All donation no matter how big or small are greatly appreciated. Prayers would be greatly appreciated also. If you could just share my story with others that would be absolutely amazing. I would like to say thank you to all of you that took the time to stop to read and share my story.

Please if you have any questions please email me at; Hopelessmom2018@gmail.com I will be happy to answer any and all questions you may have. Thanks again.

New York: Reynaldo Bonilla, 40, accused of cockfighting, abusing animals

ISLIP, LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK -- Police searching for drugs at a home in New York discovered more than 60 caged roosters, a mistreated pit bull, a pheasant and equipment used to stage illegal cockfighting matches.

Officers called in the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and arrested 40-year-old Reynaldo Bonilla, who was to be arraigned on charges including animal cruelty.

The roosters were trained for cockfighting and will have to be euthanized, because they can't be rehabilitated and were likely injected with steroids and other chemicals, Suffolk County SPCA Chief Roy Gross said.

Why can dog fighting Pit Bulls supposedly be "rehabilitated", but a chicken can't? Answer: Pit Bull lobbyists.

Also stored on the property were a fighting ring, razor blade-like spurs that are attached to the roosters when they fight and "little boxing gloves" that protect the birds when they train, he said.

"The call it a blood sport," Gross said. Spectators who bet on the fights "want to see the birds cutting each other, seeing the blood, and generally they bleed out. It's barbaric. They generally fight to the death," he said.

Investigators haven't determined if fights were staged at the property, or if the birds were only being housed there in the hamlet of Brentwood on Long Island, he added.

The name of Bonilla's attorney wasn't immediately available. If convicted, he will be placed on an animal abuse registry that allows authorities to track his whereabouts.

Maryland: Schnauzer is euthanized after 'single mother with 2 kids' claims she can't afford to pay the vet bills after her Pit Bulls tore him apart

MARYLAND -- Towson, Maryland- On Friday 01/19/2018 around 7:40p-8:00p my wife and daughter were going on a regular nightly walk with our mini schnauzers Mackie and Rosie while I was on my way back home from work.

Shortly after their walk, two unleashed pit bulls approached them and attacked them. Neither my wife and daughter were bit. Except, for my wife some scratches to her body and soreness on her arms and body due to the struggle.

Unfortunately, our dog, Mackie is in bad condition with deep wounds from the bites that damaged his muscles and nerves and dislocated his hip with a 50% chance of full recovery.

Our dog was rushed to the Pet-Er and has been hospitalized since Friday night and his bill is already at $4,100. The owner of the pit bulls who is a single parent working two jobs and going to school has been paying Mackie's medical bills, however, we are trying to find other solutions to alleviate the costly treatment.

Am I supposed to feel sorry for this "single parent working two jobs and going to school"? SHE CHOSE TO HAVE NOT JUST ONE - BUT TWO PIT BULLS AS PETS AND IS 100% RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAS HAPPENED.

It is an unexpected expense that we didn't cause. We are asking for any monetary donations, so that we can continue our dog's treatment. Per the Pet-Er doctor Mackie will be required to stay hospitalized for a few more days to determine how serious his health condition is, which can cost at least $1,000 daily and further treatment for his wounds and hip.

The money not used will be donated forward to an animal rescue and care center which name will be announce on my Facebook with visuals of me giving a check to the rescue center and thanking everyone of you for your support.

Our dogs have been with us since puppies for about 7 years. They are part of our family and everyday life, growing together side by side with our children, who are 12 and 8 years old. Our dogs are the ones that when we come home are so excited to see us and they have been the most loyal to us.

We are a working family just like every American who is trying to make it. And we are in an unfortunate situation that is requiring the help of others. Every little bit that you can contribute from $1 or more if you can help. We will be forever grateful.

Either you can or can't help financially please help by sharing this link with family and friends.

God Bless you all!

UPDATE 1
On Friday 01/19/2018 my wife and daughter were going on a regular nightly walk with our mini schnauzers Mackie and Rosie. Shortly, two unleashed pit bulls approached them and attacked them. Neither my wife and daughter were hurt. Except, for my wife suffering a minor bite and a few scratches and just soreness in the neck and arm area.

Unfortunately, our baby dog, Mackie was brutally hurt with deep wounds from the bites that damaged his muscles and dislocated his hip.

This incident has resulted with a hospitalization and treatment  that continues to get costly. Our dog has been hospitalized since Friday night and his bill is already at $4,100.

The owner of the pit bulls who is a single parent working two jobs and going to school has been paying Mackie's medical bills, however, we are trying to cooperate with each other and find solutions to alleviate the costly treatment.

Did she euthanize her maulers? If not, she's not really sorry. #SorryNotSorry

We love animals and understand that accidents happen all the time. We are asking for any monetary donations, so that we can continue Mackie's treatment. He will require to stay hospitalized for a few more days, which can cost up $1,000 daily and further treatment for his hip.

Our dogs have been with us since puppies for about 7 years. They are part of our family and everyday life, growing together side by side with our children, who are 12 and 8 years old. Our dogs are the ones that when we come home are so excited to see us and they have been the most loyal to us.

We have never asked for any types of assistance for our dogs. We are a working family just like every American who is trying to make it. We thank you and appreciate that you also care and love animals and we will be forever grateful.

If you can't help financially please help by sharing this link with family and friends.

UPDATE 2
Thank you everyone who has donated. Mackie is still in full recovery mode. We were able to transfer him over from the Pet-Er to an Animal Hospital. Still a long way to go and more treatment to get done. Please even a small donation of $1 help to the cause.
God Bless you all!

UPDATE 3
Unfortunately Mackie was put to sleep today 01/23/2018 at 2:40p. We are heartbroken right now. Mackie needed 24/7 attention and neither the owner of the pit bulls nor us could afford it. He was in so much pain and it was hard seeing him like that. We had him since he was a puppy. The money collected was used to put him to sleep.

Thank you all for your support! God Bless you all!
