Beyerlin told KEZI on Sunday that his wife Dawn was walking their three-year-old dog in the Glenwood area when their neighbor's dog, Raider, pushed its way through the gate.
That's when Beyerlin said Raider attacked his dog. He said Dawn tried to pull Raider away but the dog bit her. The boyfriend of Raider's owner rushed Dawn to the hospital, Beyerlin said.

He said he doesn't blame the breed, but this particular dog was trained to attack by its previous owner.
"You can't rehabilitate a dog that has tasted blood. Like I say, I don't blame the breed. I love pit bulls. This particular pit bull, when his original owner died, he should have died with him," said Beyerlin.
Beyerlin said Raider has history of violence. He said in the fall of 2016, the pit bull attacked his other dog but the dog was able to get away unharmed.
"Before I left the house, his girlfriend Tina said 'this is all your fault. You're always parading your dog past my house and this and that. They have a 'Potentially Dangerous Dog' sign on their six foot fence that the county has put there because Raider has a history," he said.
He keeps repeating this... that the Pit Bull was "trained" to be this way. Where's the proof? By the way he keeps apologizing, "I'm not against Pit Bulls don't hate me!" is really pathetic. It sounds like it's simply a typical, animal-aggressive Pit Bull that got out and attacked another dog last year, was put on some restrictions by law enforcement (deemed 'potentially dangerous') and then this year attacked another dog and then bit its owner when she intervened.
Not to say the Pit Bull owner doesn't sound like a complete jerk, blaming them for "walking past" her house. But it's really irritating to hear how much he wants everyone to know that he doesn't blame Pit Bulls, that any dog could've done this, that it was "trained" to do this. If it were a Chow that had done this, I seriously doubt he would be going on and on about how he doesn't blame all Chows, that he loves Chows, that the Chow was "trained" to be mean, etc.
Beyerlin said Dawn underwent a second surgery on her arm and wrist on Tuesday but she will need to undergo another. He also said doctors said she will not regain full use of her fingers.
The hospital is in the process of filing a police report.
KEZI 9 News reached out the Lane County Animal Services Enforcement Division but were unable to get a hold of anyone.
